Ch.13: L&T question about Catherine's walk to the Tilneys'   Written by Line (3/12/2009 10:04 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Catherine's "gothic-novel-like" struggles, penned by JoAnn

When Catherine left the Thorpes and her brother to see Miss Tilney, it sounded like she walked to the Tilneys' lodgings all by herself. I was just wondering if this meant that it was acceptable for a 17-year-old girl to walk around Bath alone, or was she accompanied by another of JA's invisible servants? While her companions were upset, no one, including her brother, seemed bothered about the propriety of her behaviour.
