Are you new?

This is probably not the right place to discuss this, but in some ways it does seem as if JA wrote MP in a different state of mind than usual. Also, I still can't remember which came first, MP or NA (plus there's the confusion of when NA was originally written, as opposed to the date it was revised, if it was).

Your basic argument is 100% logical, and JA's defense of the novel *seems* to make her position perfectly clear. I would love to know if it was already in the original manuscript, or if she added it later on!
