I have a focus of sorts. It's my impression that Dear Aunt Jane is the most economical of writers, just one of the reasons why IMHO she's the greatest novelist in the English language. This economy of effort seems all the greater because of what feels like a relative formality of expression compared to her Victorian successors. Somehow, I feel that you "know" one of her characters, you would recognise them if you met them on the street, within a few sentences of them being introduced.
Having fortuitously stumbled upon your august board at the precise moment when you're restarting her canon, I'd like to follow up this impression and see if I can justify it. I'll be popping my head around the door every few days to see what's been going on behind my back.
