room for interpretation   Written by Gina K (3/3/2009 11:56 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Catherine's development - chap. 1, penned by Elizabeth K
Are you new?

I feel like I know Catherine. I think one can take a lot from the introduction and the information given during the developing - most of all about her home life and her background (we get to know her parents, we get to know something about her lessons, the way she was and behaved as a child, her interests and her development...).

And doesn’t that make a great author? Creating a character as Catherine and giving the reader an idea of her and her background without explaining it all in detail, but by giving little hints and a whole lot of room for interpretation. Isn`t that needed to identify with the character?
