Thrilled to be here   Written by Kath (3/2/2009 2:23 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Welcome!!, penned by Lynn
Are you new?

Hi everyone!

Sorry to be popping my head in a tad late.

First, thanks Lynn for starting this Group Read. I am fairly new to this Republic, and this is my very first GR. I am beside myself with excitement!

I have read Northanger Abbey twice before all the way through, and often come back to re-read specific chapters or passages (I always take notes of my favorite quotes and scenes as I read a novel).

NA is my favorite JA novel so far. One thing I truly enjoy of it is JA's witty 'interruptions' throughout the story, telling us what we ought to think, feel, and believe of what we see. Catherine reminds me of myself at her age, and I am constantly sighing and swooning over Henry Tilney. ;^P

It is a pleasure to read this wonderful book while surrounded by all these well-read people who truly understand Jane Austen -her times, her brilliancy, and her importance for English literature.

I am delighted to be part of this community, and feel it as an honor to benefit from your comments.

Thanks beforehand, for sharing your opinions with me and letting me express my own.

Have a nice reading! :-)
