...and danced with her twice. Was that not an indication of something? Mrs. Bennet felt so when Bingley danced twice with Jane on their first meeting (not to divert us from NA, but I need to find an JA-era standard somewhere). In addition, Henry teased Catherine in a friendly way and did not excuse himself to find other partners.

So I am not going past the pair's first meeting to feel Henry found Catherine refreshing. But, yes, perhaps he was pretending.
