Yes she is!   Written by Gina K (3/2/2009 11:27 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, But is she a typical person?, penned by Adrian
Are you new?

She is probably a typical kind of girl.

But what I have to add is that in my impression we often talk about Catherine as the kind of girl we know in throngs, but not as the kind of girl we are. What I do think of by saying that? Because Catherine is (in the beginning) a rather unconsidered person with a great portion naivety. And only few people who really have these characteristics would picture themselves so, though probably most people have more of Catherine than theyd like to give in. Thats maybe why many dont like her as a heroine, because she is maybe to close to what we are and feel like sometimes. When we read wed rather identify with characters like Elisabeth, someone we can find admirable a whole lot easier from the very beginning.

If we want to like Catherine we probably have to see her like Henry does. I agree with you when you say he finds her refreshing, she entertains him in the most positive way and he also sees things in her we cant talk about yet but in a few days. Looking forward to it!
