Mothers - and a lovely picture :-D   Written by Reeba (4/27/2006 3:34 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Mothers and more LOL lines, penned by Katy B
Are you new?

I love Mrs. Morland too.

Most mothers do tend to get moralistic (I mean it positively) and very practical.

I find it so amusing the way Mrs. Morland's thoughts and concerns run between Catherine's condition and Richard's unfinished cravat.

And finally both the parents are so understanding about Henry's letters.

I love this illustration by Hugh Thomson where he has turned a very idiomatic dry phrase to such a lively humourous one.
The parents are looking away but a young one isn't, while Catherine reads her letter.
