Ch 17 is from NA and not Udolpho. I am sorry.. Written by Reeba (4/17/2006 5:41 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, The 'ruined chapel' and the 'nun'. Oh, so gothic. (focus), penned by Reeba

for this confusion. I tried to separate the two :-/

It is Catherine whose thoughts run to 'Udolpho' and thinks of a 'ruined chapel' and the 'ill-fated nun' as soon as she realized she was to visit Northanger Abbey - a 'former' abbey with ruins.

These thoughts of Catherine are in CH 17 of NA.
The rest are passages/lines from 'Udolpho'.
