Horrid & fascinating.   Written by MandyN (4/15/2006 3:27 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Gothic Nightmares(warning: something truly horrid in this post!), penned by JulieW
Are you new?

Perhaps as a reflection of a tumulteous era, any of these paintings appear full of energy, even stormy.

Some of them are beatiful, many ghastly and a surprising number of these pictures look modern.
I liked Henry Fuseli's Titiania paintings and some of the ink washes.
I was interested to see there is the work of a lady artist as well.
Georgina North, 'The Shepard's Dream', 1816.

I wonder if Catherine would find it all deliciously horrid !

An interesting and colorful way to introduce the second half of our GR.

So thoughtful of the Tate Gallery to hold an exhibition of Gothic paintings, no doubt for our GR.
Wonderful how you arranged it with them Julie, thankyou ! :)
