Actually, I find this scene quite..   Written by Reeba (4/10/2006 4:42 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Ch. 13: Does anyone else get angry?, penned by Maisy

exhilarating.

Catherine defies everyone and does what she thinks she should do.
I just love this part. And the way she runs to Milsom street is all so Catherineish (and unlike a gothic heroine).

Of course if she was a gothic heroine she would have been cowed down and tragically stayed back, missed her chance for a walk with the Tilneys and suffered their wrong opinion of her, and shed tears over it.

I personally didn't get the impression that they restrained her physically in a violent way.
it says that; Isabella, however, caught hold of one hand, Thorpe of the other,

I imagine a hand holding scene, a bit firmly, but easily released, which perhaps gave no impression of inappropriacy to the public.
I see this as such, because as mentioned earlier, this is the moment of Catherine's triumph!!!
