Ch. 13: Does anyone else get angry?   Written by Maisy (4/10/2006 3:32 p.m.)
Are you new?

Does anyone else get angry in ch. 13 when Thorpe and Isabella physically restrain Catherine to prevent her from going after Miss Tilney and Henry? I always find that section very upsetting to read. For an era of gentility of manners, this incident of physically restraining a lady (and in public, no less) feels extremely inappropriate and even a little creepy. (I kind of want to yell at them, "How dare you manhandle that young lady?!")
