Lines that make me smile and almost swoon and thud...   Written by MaryAnn K. (4/8/2006 3:37 p.m.)
Are you new?

These are lines that I love, that give me the warm fuzzies, and make me jittery inside!

Chp 10-
After Thorpe finally ceases to talk to Catherine during her dance with Da Man, Tilney says, “That gentleman would have put me out of patience, had he stayed with you half a minute longer. He has no business to withdraw the attention of my partner from me. " She's mine! I know he continued on in jest, but just the words said make me quiver!

Later, in thier discussion about when to get tired of Bath, Catherine says "Oh! Who can ever be tired of Bath?”

“Not those who bring such fresh feelings of every sort to it as you do." (Tilney) I can just see him saying this in a coy fashion, but with feeling.

When HT points out his father after the General asked who she was, her response is so precious, and must have stroked his manly heart.
< Catherine’s answer was only “Oh!” — but it was an “Oh!” expressing everything needful: attention to his words, and perfect reliance on their truth. >

Ch 12-
After Catherine bursts forth in apology to HT at the theatre, his response is so tender. < Is there a Henry in the world who could be insensible to such a declaration? Henry Tilney at least was not. 'With a yet sweeter smile' (I would put this in bold if my internet application would let me!), he said everything that need be said of his sister’s concern, regret, and dependence on Catherine’s honour. > I could just see that smile!

And when she accuses him of being angry with her, he asks her to make room for him, and then remained with them for some time. Ahhh...my heart goes a-pattering as I see the attraction growing!

I know there is more to come, just have to finish the reading for this week! =-)
