I think he means.. Written by Reeba (4/8/2006 2:39 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Ch.10: The fan and the lavender water?, penned by Line

that in marriage the man is supposed to provide for her,

but in dancing, she furnishes (provides) the fan and the lavender water by herself (man doesn't have to provide her with it).

I could be totally off the mark, of course. :-)
