I wonder which is the correct one.   Written by Reeba (4/8/2006 8:05 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Different editions, penned by Emmeline
Are you new?

The online text here at ROP also says 'sniffles'.
An excellent and extremely interesting observation, Emmeline.
Thank you for leting us know.

Actually I had marked this part as a the LOL line for the coming week.

"..with sniffles of most exquisite misery, and the laughing eye of utter despondency.

I wonder if, because 'smiles' and 'laughing' go together, 'smile' is the word.

On the other hand 'sniffles' sounds such a 'Regency' word.

Can we trust the books we have??!!
