Yes   Written by MaryAnn K. (4/6/2006 6:23 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Catherine is very sensible. ., penned by Reeba
Are you new?

I have been observing the same about Catherine. =-)

Even in her conversation with Isabella she shows more sense than her friend. In Chp 6 when Isabella arrives 5 min before she and Catherine where to meet, then abuses her for not being there sooner Catherine says,
“Have you, indeed! I am very sorry for it; but really I thought I was in very good time. It is but just one. I hope you have not been here long?” She kindly expresses the truth in a way that does not embarrass her friend.

Later in the same meeting, she defends that men are not all amazingly impertinent but says, "Well, I never observed that. They always behave very well to me.”

In chp 7, she doubts the propriety of going on a drive with John Thorpe, and would have said that she did not like Thorpe had it not been for friendship and flattery.

I think there is definitely signs of good breeding and decorum for our innocent heroine!
