Interesting post! I must confess that I have tempted to think of Catherine as "stupid" or "silly", when I think in fact she is just innocent and naive (which aren't really the same think at all). Thankyou for posting these instances that show Catherine's good sense, even if her lack of experience makes her unsure at times. It also makes me remember that she has always been more moderate in her statements than Isabella, and the fact that she seems naturally drawn to HT and Miss Tilney speaks very highly of her good sense IMO.
