Childless Women's attitude   Written by Pennie (4/4/2006 10:46 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Sympathy for Mrs. Allen, penned by Kelley B
Are you new?

Actually, far from feeling sorry for Mrs Allen for being childless, it sounds similar to the attitude a lot of modern childless people have - 'I really enjoy having no children because I have time and money to do nice things/buy nice things', and the other attitude of 'I don't want kids of my own, so why must I listen to other people gush about their kids?'

In the pre-contraception era, Mrs Allen wouldn't necessarily have had a choice in the matter, but given that she doesn't enjoy listening to Mrs Thorpe talk about her children, she doesn't sound too disappointed at not having her own, and is enjoying the benefits.
