Hey Phil is this your first reading of NA? Hope you're enjoying it. I think Thorpe's manners would be offensive even in this day and age. Imagine going with someone to a party and then they wander off and leave you alone until they feel like wandering back to see if you're still there. I think only Thorpe's particular interests e.g. horses and dogs take top priority with him.
