Thanks for putting together the quotes that makes up a picture of the ball in the upper rooms I think the portrait of the crowd and the press is quite vivid and I think nothing but that is was exactly how JA describes it. Here is a few more: Mrs. Allen also complains that “one gets so tumbled in such a crowd…Somebody gave me a push…” when they are sitting down and wishing for tea things and Catherine refers to “all this multitude of people…” I love it that Catherine is finally noticed when the crowds thin out. :D
