In CH:1

Something must and will happen to throw a hero in her way.

This is really funny, because in 'Udolpho' the hero, Valancourt, actually throws himself in Emily's way, when she's travelling with her father in their carriage.
...and then saw a young man spring from the bushes into the road,... LOL!!
