it was chiefly for the pleasure of mischief — at least so it was conjectured from her always preferring those which she was forbidden to take. CH 1

This is an aspect of Catherine which is so endearing. I know, if they were my flowers I would not find it so ;-), but I do like the idea of a mischieviuos Catherine. Something similar to Emma saying 'George' when young just to see if it would offend him.

Sorry, forgot to include this in my previous post.
