I don't have many things to say, except...   Written by Felicity (10/25/2010 5:17 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, If you got 'em, watch 'em., penned by Carol
Are you new?

... that I'm Fanny Price#1 in the LC Board (there, I said it), the one who complains about the adaptations.

MP3, with Billie Piper, which I watched after I wrote this message, was IMO insipid. Lady Bertram was uncharacteristically conscious, Fanny was uncharacteristically spontaneous/happy, Mrs.Norris was uncharacteristically... not evil. Well, not so much as she ought to have been, anyway.

MP2 has the best and most faithful script beyond any comparison, in my opinion. However, sometimes it gives the impression it tries toohard too be faithful. For example, after Mary breaks Edmund's heart etc etc, Edmund's confession to Fanny begins thus: "It's a wet Sunday..." echoing the equivalent passage of the book: "sitting with her on a Sunday evenig-a wet Sunday evening...". I remember the scene vividly. Edmund was sitting besides Fanny. They were both looking so solemn and the line was so unexpected that I could not help laughing. In spite of the heartbreaking and all. Oh well.

I liked most of the actors of the miniseries and if I remember correctly most of the important scenes were included but I confess I haven't seen a Fanny I like much yet.

...Turns out I did have much to say.
