To me, JA sure seems to be leaving it up in the air as to whether Fanny and Henry could've been happy together, with all the mis-matched and matched pairs in the book. It starts to seem more and more than ending up happy in marriage is either one big gamble, or else a lot of hard work. (Being a veteran of the establishment, I'd say it's more the latter than the former, but also is oh-so worth it.)
