explains more fully what you were saying about Flora and Lord Stornaway, so I was misunderstanding you the first time. Sorry! To me, JA sure seems to be leaving it up in the air as to whether Fanny and Henry could've been happy together, with all the mis-matched and matched pairs in the book. It starts to seem more and more than ending up happy in marriage is either one big gamble, or else a lot of hard work. (Being a veteran of the establishment, I'd say it's more the latter than the former, but also is oh-so worth it.)
