Thank you for clarifying Mr. Nokes's guesstimates   Written by KatharineW (10/22/2010 6:18 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Edward Knight, penned by Bridget D
Are you new?

According to Nokes, there is no mention of George in family letters, journals, private papers, etc, once he is given into the care of those who cared for Thomas. To be fair, Nokes did state that this family truly cared for and treated kindly those in their charge.

I am relieved to learn that Edward Knight did not abandon his family. Mayhaps by then, he had read S&S and was inspired to offer his sisters and mother the use of "Barton Cottage."

As I said, I have learned so much from this group reading session and from all of my neighbours in our Republic.
