I love it.

This is the best analogy I've heard up to now.

I can just see her, sitting in London with her oh so worldly friends, worrying about what is going on in the realm of Mansfield Park, and having a couple of nips from the brandy, which just bolts her deeper and deeper into her dreadful state of mind.
