I think there's another one of these types of moments in ch 25. I don't if there's any chin rubbing though. :)
and disdaining even as a littleness the being quick–sighted on such points, he could not avoid perceiving, in a grand and careless way, that Mr. Crawford was somewhat distinguishing his niece...

That phrase "grand and careless" seems unnecessary to describe just noticing something. It seems to me that these are examples of what he likes to think about himself.
