Are you new?

It looks like JA's boy characters suddenly become tolerable at age 10. :-)

Here, we have Tom and Charles Price (9 and 8) being disagreeable, while Sam Price (older than 9, younger than 14) turns out OK once Fanny gets to know him a bit better.

To narrow it down further, there's Charles Blake (10) from The Watsons, who's a proper little gentleman, give or take his inadvertent put-down of Miss Osborne.
