Yes, I totally agree. And the characters are so believable, I don't think there is a single charicature in the novel. Lady B comes close, but in this week's chapters she is shown to think about Fanny and refuses to agree with Mrs. N (one of the few times she is mentioned) about missing Fanny. We are beginning to actually see a personality there.
