This is how I took it   Written by Ramya (10/10/2010 6:37 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Still feeling dense, penned by Barb JA
Are you new?

The whole thing is a dig at her brother. She is not serious that Edmund seek Henry's help with the improvements. She is not even talking to Edmund- but talking at Edmund.

Only think what grand things were produced there by our all going with him one hot day in August to drive about the grounds, and see his genius take fire. There we went, and there we came home again; and what was done there is not to be told!

Mary is suggesting that Henry was involved in improper behavior at Sotherton and his activities there cannot be spoken of openly. The usually protective sister seems to have lost her cool.
