True, though without a dowry or some money, her chances of securing a husband at Mansfield are not too great..She was very lucky to meet and attract Henry.


and at least at first, the Bertrams dont seem to be making any effort to allwo her to participate in society, evene in a very mild way like dining at the parsonage or visting locally.

and in a way, perhaps the situation might have left her a bit like Harriet Smith.. esp if she'd gone back to Portsmouth.. She woudl be too refined and educated for the class of men who might be around her family's home....
