in consequence of the missive, I don't understand the importance of the East Room, penned by Nina RG
...associating "East" with "Good," in addition to the Christian symbolism. It's believed that the origin is because the sun rises in the East, which is makes for new life every day, and sets in the West, or dies everyday. The Ancient Egyptians put all their cites and towns -- the places people "live" -- on the East Bank of the Nile, and their tombs -- the cities of the dead -- on the West Bank. I think Fanny drew her emotional sustenance from her "East" room.
