I tend to give Sir Thomas the benefit of the doubt...   Written by jeffrey (10/4/2010 11:44 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Sir Thomas, penned by DeborahAnnebelle
Are you new?

Both Sir Thomas and Lady Bertram have their faults that contribute to the evental turmoil in their household but their mutual happiness in being reunited after Sir Thomas's voyage to the Caribbean is one telling incident that leads me to believe that their marriage is not perfect but still agreeable.

Sir Thomas comes off to me as somewhat rigid, formal, and severe, although in a firmly-polite sort of way.

As in the scenes where he dismisses the play from his household, he doesn't say much but those who know him best (Poor Mr. Yates didn't get it) know that he means business if they question his decision.
