in fact states that Rushworth does not have more than common sense (Ch. 4). And your point is taken as to other parts of the definition of the word stupid. But I still think (and I won't comment further on it) a rather unusual thing for Edmund just to say someone is an all around stupid fellow except in frustration. People do stupid things, but to call them stupid (which I think implies everything they do is stupid) is a rather harsh assessment. (It like saying someone is plain guilty, rather than saying they are guilty of something...)
