Definition of tease   Written by Lisa Dalrymple (9/24/2010 1:45 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, OOPS - I mean Chapter 16!!!! nfm, penned by Lisa Dalrymple
Are you new?

I think I'm going to end up answering part of my own question, so I'll share in case anyone else wondered the same thing. I didn't understand the sentence about attacking and teasing. The definitions of Tease in Johnson's Dictionary (1823) include "Vex". So that makes more sense now. Her cousins 'attacking' her about being in the play won't bother her any more. (I think)
