The symbolism in Fanny staying "put?"   Written by jeffrey (9/24/2010 11:13 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, good observation! Does Fanny on the bench have any more, penned by Lis M
Are you new?

In a previous post and on a lighter note, I compared all the party going to and fro while Fanny patiently sits by the locked gate as an erstwhile Keystone Kops farce. However, On the serious side, there might be something to say of Fanny's steadiness and implacability both in a physical as well as a MORAL sense in staying "put" while the rest are all over the place scurrying hither and yon.

AND, I just finished with what I errantly considered a careful initial re-read of MP.

As I have said before regarding previous Pemberley group reads, the depth and knowledge of the participants here is ASTONISHING(!) I'll confess much of it is over my head and my so-called careful re-read is just a sham with this information shared on the excursion to Sotherton. I'm simply blown away by all of it. My regard for all of you who share and Miss Austen continues to expand.
