This was just what I was wondering about. I think you make a very good case for all the dancing couples in each set. The only point where I am not sure I agree with is Edmund's partners in the first set. I cannot believe that he would let two sets go by without asking Mary Crawford to dance.

If Edmund missed the opportunity with Mary in the first set he would have asked her in the second. Instead, he is dancing with Fanny. So, I propose switching Mrs. Grant and Mary for the first two sets. That way, Edmund would have danced with MC for the first and the third set.

This was fun... ;-)
