I agree completely and always wonder   Written by Angela L (9/21/2010 4:11 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Sporting with the Miss Bertrams, penned by Robbin
Are you new?

that Mr. Rushworth, in particular as Maria's fiancé, and Mrs. Norris, who is supposed to be taking care of Maria and Julia, and all the rest except Fanny, are so completely oblivious to the meaning of Henry's actions.

It could be that Mr. Rushworth does see what's going on and does feel jealous, but doesn't want to show it, feeling that it would be an embarrassment to show such feelings openly. Or that it could lead to a confrontation with Henry and/or Maria, which then could lead to the dissolution of the engagement. And he might be afraid of exactly that. I guess it fits in with his personality to not "have the guts" to intervene somehow.

I do wonder about the others though.
