racy stuff   Written by Bridget D (9/21/2010 1:30 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, To quote ..., penned by Reeba
Are you new?

Austen's juvenilia is full of references to racy subjects such as drunkenness, illicit love affairs illegitimate children etc as Is I understnad Lady Susan. I think as she grew older, wrote for publication and "may" have had a bit of a "religious awakening" about the time of writing Mansfield Park doesn't mean that she wasn't aware of what went on in the world and I think that it is possible that Jane was aware of such things as naval "sexual goings on".. I think that its possible that her brothers might have jested about such subjects at times.
