I never really noticed it before, but JA is very sarcastic when she refers to Mr. Rushworth and Maria. I need to re-read these chapters to see if I find any other references like that.

I think the Sotherton section is amusing. I don't like Maria so when she is uncomfortable I don't mind. I feel bad for Mary that she is embarassing herself by making rude comments about the clergy before she is aware of Edmund's career choice. And poor Fanny being left all alone! I feel very sorry for her, she can't help it that she gets tired so quickly.
