Not offense really   Written by Barb JA (9/19/2010 1:05 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Another way of looking..., penned by Reeba
Are you new?

Perhaps, I need to clarify. I didn't expect him to take offense at what she said, more I would have liked him to see clearly that they are not suited.

Between the first chapel foot in mouth incident, and then the second where she tells him a clergyman is nothing, she pretty well makes it clear that she doesn't like anything about what will be his way of life. Maybe I misled by only quoting the end of the conversation, when it was the whole of the two conversations that shed light on their differences. So it bugs me that he is so blind. He doesn't seem interested in her mind at all. The wit and liveliness with which she delivers her opinions shouldn't blind him to their differences of opinion.
