Frankly, it's easy for me to feel sympathy for Fanny. I very much look forward to reading your thoughts as you proceed with your sympathetic view towards all of the characters. That I admit is hard for me, so maybe I shall try that too. No guaranty of success.

Don't get me wrong I wanted her to fight back too. But with many more readings I understand more why she doesn't.
