First-time reader here   Written by Cathy Allen (9/18/2010 3:33 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I never thought to ask:, penned by Carol
Are you new?

I have seen the MP1 adaptation, and MP3 adaptation. The horror stories I've heard about the revisionist MP2 adaptation kept me from wasting my time with it. I wish I hadn't bothered with MP3, which was also revisionist, in my mind, at least -- BILLIE PIPER?!! (Whose idea was THAT?!)

I liked the "One" version, but it was a few years ago, and not reading JA's book makes a big difference in anyone's attitude to any of her stories. I knew the GR would be coming, so here I am. I enjoy the GR's, for the same reasons given by Patricia AA, and Angela L. I get much more from sharing the novels with others more knowledgeable than I am, thank you all very much!

I also have the MP audio book, read by Juliet Stevenson (Mrs. Elton in one of the Emmas) and am listening to that according to the same schedule as the GR reading. I highly recommend her audio books, available thru a Pemberley link, which results in a contribution to Pemberley, don't you know!
