Limerick Contest, Week 1   Written by Carol (9/18/2010 1:38 a.m.)
Are you new?

Okay, everyone, here are the submitted limericks for this week. Vote for you favorite at cleo0809@hotmail.com

#1
Poor little Miss Fanny Price!

She's shyer than the meekest of mice.

No one knows what she's about,

Whether she's in or she's out.

Will she ever be showered in rice?

#2
Simple, shy, true and pure, ad nauseum,
Humility does worsen her problem
Yet with right on her side
Fanny, Dear, should take pride
In not being, at all, a MISS BERTRAM

#3
Tom Said,

"I've usurped your living, forgive me
But Dr. Grant's apoplectic, you see
Plied well with good food
We can surely conclude:
No worry, he'll 'pop off' expediently!"

#4

Mr. Rushworth was very well bred,

At least that is what everyone said.

He had lots of loot,

And a big house to boot,

But he is much too thick in the head

#5

Mrs. Norris's Niece

I have a young niece called Miss Price,
And really she hasn't a vice.
Though she's not at all pretty,
And, a pity, not witty,
She'll fetch what you want in a trice.

#6

Miss Crawford was harp-less a while
Which really was quite a sore trial.
She offended the hay
By attempting to pay
For priv'lege, in Londoner style.

#7
There were three sisters from Huntingdon
two girls for Maria, also two sons
youngest as Frances was known
she had several of her own
while aunt Norris the eldest had none.

What wonderful entries, everyone! I thank you all, and admire your efforts. Remember voting ends late Sat. nite
