Thank you for your response Barb JA. This is the first time I have participated in a Group Read, and your feedback was very helpful.

My frustration with Fanny does relate to her "doormat" attitude, and what I had perceived as a willingness to play that role. Your statement about just a glance, or glare, or even a slight 'rolling' of the eyes would have been the bone I was craving. lol just one of those would have satisfied me. You are right...JA would have thrown me that bone if she felt that it wouldn't have harmed the storyline.

Fanny is just so good, that she makes me feel just a little bit bad. There are many pages left to read, and Jeffrey too advised patience.
