Does JA really equates gout with gluttony?   Written by Graciela (9/16/2010 1:10 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Pug is a Devil Dawgg!, penned by Patricia AA
Are you new?

In Persuasion, Admiral Croft has to go to Bath because he suffers from gout, but if I'm not mistakem he's never depicted as glutton.

We don't know much (or anything at all) of Mr. Norris. All we know is through Mrs. Norris' words, and his gout was only a pretext for her not having Fanny at the parsonage.
