Miss Frances   Written by Tori Marie (9/16/2010 8:47 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, The Ward Sisters, penned by BarbaraB
Are you new?

You mention Miss Frances' willingness to sever ties with the others, which of course does make her life even more difficult.

The thing is, I wonder if she really realized at the time that her actions were going to have such consequences. She had her dashing lieutenant and her head must have been full of him at the time. Perhaps she thought he would quickly be made a captain, take ever so many prizes and outshine them all. It was only with the fullness of time that she realized how dire the situation would be.

So at the time of her marriage, as those letters were going back and forth, I really think that she felt she didn't need her sisters help, nor the help of Sir Thomas.
