Are you new?

I'm 48 and this is probably my sixth reading of MP. This time I remembered prior group reads where folks have mentioned that this is a funny book, and I meant to look out for humor. It still seemed pretty sparse on the ground to me.

I think the general sense of Fanny's being besieged casts a pall for me, and I have trouble laughing at Mrs. Norris since she seems so poisonous. I'd appreciate it if folks could point out funny parts as you see them (without overloading the board of course).

I agree with others that the Crawfords are very welcome additions in lightening the mood.
