I can concede that point, but as far as Mrs. Norris and Fanny having a similar desire to be important to someone? Nah. Fanny is emotionally needy and codependent--she NEEDS to feel affection. Mrs. Norris cares naught for affection--she NEEDS to feel the importance of attention.
