Mrs. Norris should ever have it in her power   Written by Stephanie (9/14/2010 12:56 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Mrs. Norris as a mother ??!, penned by Patricia AA
Are you new?

Oh, my, I hope you are wrong, and that Mrs. Norris was only childless for the means of the plot-development standpoint! If Jane Austen punished characters by making them barren, then I would wonder at the sometimes-worse-than-Mrs.-Norris characters she allowed to have children!

Besides, it sorts of leads to the thought that Mrs. Price was rewarded for disobliging her family... Or were the children an indirect means of punishing her?
